MC IDRIJA

We left our mark on MCI”

Created in August of 2025, the MCI Alumni is a way for MCI to connect with previous volunteers, who helped to create what MCI is today. This also gives MCI the opportunity to thank and acknowledge the previous volunteers on their contributions.

The previous volunteers get a chance to connect and learn from each others’ experiences with volunteering and the life after it. MCI will facilitate events for the Alumni to be in contact with MCI and each other. The Alumni enables prolonging the volunteering life past the ending of the volunteering contract.

The idea for Alumni started from wanting to give the volunteers more spotlight for their work in bringing MCI to life. The volunteers have impacted MCI in so many ways: repairing and decorating the building, event management, social media and website design, community work and positive vibes to all of Idrija.

On this webpage you can see what the Alumni have done over the years and what projects they were part of. Interested in volunteering at MCI? Get a taste of what volunteering could be like here at MCI, and leave an application at the bottom of the page!

Impacts of the European Solidarity Corps on European Identity – Case of ESC Volunteers in Slovenia by Visa Mäntyneva

The research focused on the impacts of ESC volunteering on European identity among ESC volunteers in Slovenia. The research was carried out using a mixed-methods approach consisting of interviews and surveys with current and former volunteers of MCI and other Slovenian organizations. The results showed that ESC has a lot of positive impacts on European identity of volunteers and on their life in general.
